Nationals Not Competitive in 6-0 Loss to Lynchburg
|
Juan Benitez of the Lynchburg Hillcats spun his magic on the Potomac Nationals today. He blanked them 6-0 on 9 hits, registering 4 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Benitez said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Lynchburg skipper Josh Anthony said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Juan pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
This season Benitez has crafted a 6-1 mark with a 1.52 ERA in 65.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .217 against him and he has 38 strikeouts.
