Victory Pushes Nationals Record to 28-25
|
The Potomac Nationals spoiled a good performance by Lynchburg third baseman Frenk Beltman, bumping off Lynchburg, 5-1, at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. Beltman went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. After today's action, Potomac sits at 28-25, while Lynchburg falls to 39-14.
The Nationals got a big at-bat from shortstop Humberto Rubio. For the game, Rubio was 1-3 with a double and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Potomac a 1-0 lead.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Diego Perez.
