Fernando Marquez was locked in. The right-hander led the Potomac Nationals to a 3-0 win against the Lynchburg Hillcats at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. Marquez got the win, improving to 2-6. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. Danny Montes finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Alex Gomez drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Potomac. The 27-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Maurice Johnson. It was his 25th walk of the season.

"It feels good to get this one," Gomez told the Potomac Citizen.

The Nationals improved their record to 26-28 by beating Lynchburg.
