The Wilmington Blue Rocks and Lynchburg Hillcats played an exciting game.

Wilmington got a strong outing from Matthew Anderson as the Blue Rocks defeated the Lynchburg Hillcats, 4-2, at Ed Smith Stadium. Anderson yielded 2 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 10. His record improves to 1-3. Garrett Youngblood, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.

Wilmington used a timely hit from Dave Jacoba to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blue Rocks ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Matthew was outstanding," said Wilmington manager Bobby Clontz.
