Tight Tilt Goes to Hillcats, 3-2
|
Lynchburg parlayed a decent outing from starter Jesus Trinidad into a solid win over the Potomac Nationals. The final score was 3-2. The winner was Trinidad. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Jorge Salas. Picking up the save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Dodson.
Lynchburg used a clutch at-bat from Bert Heathcote to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hillcats ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We busted our tails," said Potomac manager Justin Bland. "But we came up short."
Lynchburg is in last place in the Northern Division with a record of 26-29.
