Mendoza Impresses as Hillcats Knock Off Dash, 3-1
The Lynchburg Hillcats got a magnificent performance from pitcher Julio Mendoza, who muffled the Winston-Salem offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Hillcats win at BB&T Ballpark. Willie Alvarez recorded the save for Lynchburg, his 2nd of the season. The Dash have now dropped 7 straight.

Mendoza was effective against the Dash, seldom allowing a hard-hit ball. The right-hander limited Winston-Salem to just 1 run on 4 hits over 8.2 innings.

"Julio did a good job of managing their lineup," said Lynchburg manager Diego Perez.
