Hillcats Get Extra-Inning, 4-3 Win
The Lynchburg Hillcats dealt the Winston-Salem Dash a 4-3 loss in 12 innings at Ed Smith Stadium. Mike Bingham was the star on offense. He was 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Lynchburg reliever Juan Cortez was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-0. Nick Portlock took the loss for Winston-Salem. With the win, Lynchburg raised its record to 33-24.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With one out, Bingham hit a curveball from Nick Portlock for a run-scoring single. The Hillcats, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said Winston-Salem manager Sam Simmons.
