Myrtle Beach Defeated by Frederick, 3-2
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Frederick Keys take on the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
Frederick pitcher Adam Pollard had a large part in his team subduing the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 3-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. David Santana nailed down his 5th save.
Amari Spencer took Myrtle Beach hurler Lorenzo Llamas deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Keys on top, 3-2. In all, Spencer had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
Frederick manager Jeremy Smejkal said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
Frederick, at 27-30, sits in third place in the Northern Division.
