A 5-RBI performance from the 21-year old third baseman Kelly McDonald helped the Lynchburg Hillcats beat the Winston-Salem Dash, 9-6. The last-place Hillcats improved to 7-50.

An inflection point occurred with two out in the top of the second. That's when Hillcats left fielder Andalo Creech hit a fastball from Tony Vazquez for a 2-run single. Just like that, Lynchburg was up, 3-2.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," McDonald told a Lynchburg Citizen reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
