Blue Rocks Rally Late to Nip Mudcats
Dave Cortez pitched well, but the Carolina Mudcats still lost the game, falling, 4-3, to the Wilmington Blue Rocks at Grainger Stadium. Aaron Gilliland snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 2 innings. He's now 4-0 on the season. Wilmington sits in second place in the Northern Division at 30-27.

Wilmington used a timely hit from Danny Campos to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blue Rocks ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We put together a nice win," Campos said.
