Salem got a big-time effort from pitcher Ivan Reyes, but it wasn't enough to keep the Potomac Nationals from winning the game, 2-1. Reyes threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Picking up his 2nd save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Azucena. Potomac, with the win, climbs to 18-40.

Potomac used the timely hitting of Edgar Guerra to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Nationals on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Guerra said, "Whether you hit the ball hard, you walk, you have a long at-bat, 10 or 12 pitches, or you hit a homer, you're just trying to do anything you can do to help the team win."
