Lynchburg beat Winston-Salem on the strength of starting pitcher Harvey Reyes's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. German Padron recorded the save, his 3rd. With the win, Lynchburg upped its record to 32-27.
In the top of the sixth, Ben Mountford delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Lynchburg second baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Hillcats in front, 5-3.
Mountford attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
