Dash Bump Off Hillcats, 3-2

The Winston-Salem Dash topped the Lynchburg Hillcats, 3-2, in Carolina League action at BB&T Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Winston-Salem pitcher and Río San Juan, Dominican Republic, native Francis Garay. Winston-Salem is now 33-26, Lynchburg 27-32.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Dash had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when second baseman Jeremy Pearce hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Tommy Newman and made the score 3-2, Dash. Pearce went 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Lynchburg manager Ben Schorn, "let me know."
