Big Day for Alvarez as Blue Rocks Down Red Sox, 7-2
Behind a fine performance from Antonio Alvarez, the Wilmington Blue Rocks knocked off the Salem Red Sox, 7-2. Alvarez was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Blue Rocks. With the win, the Blue Rocks improved to 39-21.

With Wilmington leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Alvarez came up to bat against Salem pitcher Carlos Galdamez. Alvarez hit a changeup to right for a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Blue Rocks on top, 3-0.

"Antonio was ready to go. Big day for him," said Wilmington manager Bobby Clontz.
