Though the conditions were not ideal, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Winston-Salem Dash came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans defeated the Winston-Salem Dash, 7-1, at BB&T Ballpark. Myrtle Beach was led by 22-year old right fielder Victor Romero, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Pelicans own a robust 41-19 mark.

Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Seth Hood to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pelicans on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Afterward, Winston-Salem manager Sam Simmons said: "We were guessing wrong on pitches, and that's something we've got to get away from."
