Nationals Deal Mudcats 4-0 Defeat
|
The Potomac Nationals picked up a win at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium, downing the Carolina Mudcats, 4-0. On the mound for Potomac was right-hander Manny Serrano, who played a pivotal role in the win. The third-place Nationals lifted their record to 28-33.
Potomac first baseman Alan Brulhart contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 16th hit of the season and put the Nationals ahead, 3-0.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Serrano.
