Myrtle Beach Rallies Past Winston-Salem, 2-0

Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and the Winston-Salem Dash. Myrtle Beach won it, 2-0. Myrtle Beach starter Jacopo Figura was in command. Figura yielded no runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-3. Myrtle Beach is looking good at 43-19.
Marty Pena came through with a big-time hit for Myrtle Beach. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Sam Simmons.
