Potomac Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
The Potomac Nationals got a sterling performance from pitcher Mikey Thomas, but the Lynchburg Hillcats still prevailed, 7-2. Thomas came in in relief and pitched to 22 batters. With the win, Lynchburg pushed its record to 47-15.

Alex Melendez had a big 2-run double for the Hillcats in the bottom of the second inning. With Lynchburg leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from Angel Ramos, who is tied for 7th in the CAR in wins with 6, and swatted a double to right. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hillcats ahead, 5-0.

"The guys are feeling pretty good about where they're at right now," said Hillcats manager Diego Perez. "We have a lot of guys playing with confidence."
