Dash Pull Off Thrilling 5-3 Win in Extras
Due in part to designated hitter Yorcy Lasseigne, the Winston-Salem Dash chopped down the Lynchburg Hillcats, 5-3, in 10 innings. Lasseigne was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Winston-Salem reliever Mike Muniz picked up the win to move to 4-0. J.P. O'Kelley suffered the loss. Winston-Salem now sports a record of 36-30.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Elias Vargas? The 23-year old third baseman Vargas stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put Winston-Salem up, 5-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
