Nationals Procure 2-1 Victory
|
Potomac took on Lynchburg in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Carlos Miera, in particular, was fantastic. The Potomac left-hander helped his team snag the win, 2-1. In 6 innings, Miera surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Dan Angelo recorded the save, his 8th.
Matt Wilson had a direct impact on the outcome. Wilson contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Potomac up, 1-0.
"You don't always need a lot of runs to win," said Miera. "Sometimes you need just one or two."
Potomac occupies third place in the Northern Division at 31-37.
