In a low-scoring tilt between the Carolina Mudcats and the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 26-year old left-handed pitcher Jason Langan was the difference-maker. The Carolina left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win in 10 innings. The second-place Mudcats are 33-36.
Mike Mordaunt, who is tied for 9th in the CAR in triples with 2, aided the Carolina cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 3.
"Every loss hurts," said Wilmington manager Bobby Clontz. "But this was a tough one."
