Lynchburg starter Josh Fife pitched well against the Frederick Keys at Ed Smith Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. The Northern Division-leading Hillcats have a record of 57-15.

The Hillcats got a big at-bat from third baseman Bruce Benevides. For the game, Benevides went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Lynchburg a 2-0 lead.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Benevides told the Lynchburg Bulletin.
