Dash Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Hillcats, 4-3
|
The Winston-Salem Dash, with some walk-off drama, delighted their fans at BB&T Ballpark.
Lynchburg third baseman Jeremiah Hamiel had a good game, even if his team did not. The Hillcats dropped a 4-3 decision to Winston-Salem at BB&T Ballpark. Hamiel was 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI. The win went to Omar Acosta in relief. His record improves to 5-2. German Padron took the loss.
The Dash were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 22-year old first baseman Alex Flores landed a big blow. He turned a full count fastball from German Padron into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the BB&T Ballpark denizens into a frenzy and sent the Dash home with a thrilling 4-3 win.
"The house was rockin'," said Flores.
The second-place Hillcats now sit at 40-32.
