Shepherd hits 2 home runs in Blue Rocks Win
The Wilmington Blue Rocks topped the Carolina Mudcats by the score of 7-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Gabe Shepherd. Shepherd was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Blue Rocks on the day. Ruben Felisberto picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-5. Taylor Reilly was tagged with the loss. The second-place Blue Rocks now have a 4-game winning streak.

Shepherd had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-2 fastball from Taylor Reilly, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Blue Rocks a 4-1 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Shepherd.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Shepherd.
