Nationals Lose to Salem, 2-0
|
Hurler John Harris gave the Salem Red Sox a solid start. The native of Chillum, Maryland helped his team defeat the Potomac Nationals, 2-0, at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium. Getting the save was Alexis Cordova, his 3rd. Salem, with the win, climbs to 25-49.
The outcome was still in doubt in the top of the ninth inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Potomac trailing 2-0, Alexis Cordova needed to get a big out. On a 1-2 fastball, Alan Schroeder, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2103 draft, struck out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
