Despite a fine performance by catcher Alan Schroeder, the Potomac Nationals lost to the Lynchburg Hillcats, 13-9. Schroeder went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Lynchburg pitcher Raul Novoa got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Fernando Marquez got the loss. Lynchburg is 39-36 and Potomac, with the loss, 37-38.

An inflection point occurred with no one out in the top of the third. That's when Hillcats second baseman Ernesto Zetino hit a splitter from Fernando Marquez for a 2-run single. Just like that, Lynchburg was up, 5-4.

"This game had a little bit of everything," said Zetino.
