Steve McAloon, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2106 draft, imposed his will on the Red Sox from the get-go. Relying mainly on his sinker, the right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 Frederick triumph. McAloon, now 3-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Franklin Galliano, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.

Oscar Montoya had a big 2-run home run for the Keys in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Frederick leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Henri Mariotto and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Keys ahead, 3-0.

"Steve was aggressive right out of the chute," said Frederick manager Jeremy Smejkal.

Frederick raised its record to 42-34 with the win.
