Win Makes Myrtle Beach 53-24

It might have been a rain-shorted game, but Pelicans fans didn't seem to mind as long as their team got the win.
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans defeated the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 4-0, in Carolina League action at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Myrtle Beach pitcher John Williams had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Williams, now 7-1. He tossed 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Colt Byler earned the save for Myrtle Beach, his 8th of the year.
Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Seth Hood to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pelicans on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Hood attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
With the win, Myrtle Beach has a record of 53-24. Wilmington falls to 40-36.
