Hillcats Take Tight Tilt, 3-2

The Lynchburg Hillcats faced a tough opponent in Winston-Salem pitcher Jose Velazquez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ed Smith Stadium by a final score of 3-2. Velazquez went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. With the win, Lynchburg has a record of 14-64. Winston-Salem falls to 42-36.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when second baseman Trevor Chisholm hit a run-scoring single. The Hillcats went on to win.
"No one can call baseball boring," said Hillcats manager Carlos Lugo. "Not after a game like that."
