The Winston-Salem Dash had to overcome a good performance from Lynchburg pitcher Miguel Rivera to claim a 2-0 win at Ed Smith Stadium. Rivera went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Winston-Salem, now 43-37, holds down second place in the Southern Division.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Dash had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the second, when left fielder Garrett Frawley hit a 2-run single. The single came off Miguel Rivera and made the score 2-0, Dash. Frawley was 1-3. He drove in 2 runs.

"We won," said Frawley. "But they made us earn it."
