Blue Rocks Earn Late 7-6 Win
The Wilmington Blue Rocks defeated the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 7-6, in part because of third baseman Luke Wilson. Wilson went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI for the Blue Rocks. Wilmington reliever Ernesto Escobar got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Omar Zaragoza was tagged with the loss. Francisco Checa earned his 7th save in 8 chances.

El Mirage, Arizona native Luke Wilson had a clutch at-bat in the top of the ninth for the Blue Rocks. With Wilmington trailing 6-5, he hit a 2-run single.

"We put it together and came out with the win," Wilson said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

With the victory, the Blue Rocks upped their record to 41-40.
