Keys Top Nationals to Even Record
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Frederick Keys and the Potomac Nationals, pitcher Rafael de Jesus was the difference between victory and defeat. The Frederick right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Keys win. Justin Daniels got credit for the save for Frederick. It was his 3rd of the year. The win puts the Keys at 42-42, while the Nationals drop to 43-40.
Oscar Montoya hit a 2-run triple off Francisco Valdez in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Keys in front, 3-1. Montoya had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 3.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Montoya said after the game.
