Winston-Salem left-hander Carlos Neri helped his team edge Salem by the score of 3-2. Neri kept the opposing lineup in check. The Dash sit in third place in the Southern Division with a record of 34-50.
Winston-Salem right fielder Ruben Reyes contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 15th hit of the season and put the Dash ahead, 3-2.
"Carlos just settled in and did what he does," said Winston-Salem manager Sam Simmons.
