Myrtle Beach Loses, 2-1, to Salem in 10

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans wasted an inspired, 7-inning effort from starter Lorenzo Llamas, falling, 2-1, to the Salem Red Sox at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium. Salem is third in the Southern Division with a record of 32-53.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 23-year old center fielder Jonathan Garcia had a chance to be the hero. Myrtle Beach pitcher Ryan LaBrasca wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Garcia drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Red Sox had themselves a thrilling win.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Garcia. "But we got it done."
