The Winston-Salem Dash picked up a win at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium, knocking off the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 9-7. Starting pitcher Bernie Gomez was a big reason why. Gomez, the winner, moves to 9-5. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 4 walks. Elias Orellana was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.

Winston-Salem relied on the hitting of Alex Buitron to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dash on top, 7-1. For the game, Buitron had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
