Daniel S. Frawley Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Wilmington Blue Rocks and Winston-Salem Dash.
Winston-Salem Dash starter Francis Garay took the mound against the Wilmington Blue Rocks at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium; and, when all was said and done, the right-hander led his team to an extra-inning, 3-2 win. Winston-Salem is now 45-43, while Wilmington is 40-48.
Sean Sharp, who is tied for 9th in the CAR with a .269 batting average, chipped in a run-scoring sacrifice fly for Winston-Salem in the top of the tenth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Winston-Salem manager Sam Simmons.
