The Carolina Mudcats and Frederick Keys played an exciting game.

Gerbrand Schelling, who is tied for 10th in the CAR in holds with 4, had a strong outing for the Carolina Mudcats against the Frederick Keys at Harry Grove Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Logan Samels recorded the save, his 2nd.

Matt Acord dealt the Keys a blow in the top of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Carolina leading 2-1, Acord hit a 2-1 slider for a run-scoring single.

"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Acord. "I think we showed that here."

The third-place Mudcats hiked their record to 43-45.
