The Myrtle Beach Pelicans topped the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 5-4, in Carolina League action at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Myrtle Beach pitcher Brian Adams. The first-place Pelicans lifted their record to 53-38.
John Serrano, who is tied for 6th in the CAR in bases on balls with 52, helped out the Myrtle Beach cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"It's not by accident that Brian finds ways to get outs," said Myrtle Beach skipper David Larson.
