Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Carolina Mudcats and the Potomac Nationals. Carolina won it, 3-1. Carolina starter Angel Barajas was in command. At 41-51, the Mudcats find themselves in third place in the Southern Division.

The game could have flipped with one out in the top of the eighth. But Angel Barajas made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With a runner on 1st and Potomac trailing 3-1, Barajas threw a fastball to Michael Malone, who hit into a double play.
