Pelicans Lose as Mudcats Stage Late Rally

The Carolina Mudcats got a marvelous performance from pitcher Ron Burke. The right-hander kept the Myrtle Beach offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 1-0 Carolina victory at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. The last-place Mudcats lifted their record to 32-63.
Carolina took a 1-0 lead on Miles Martin's 3rd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Martin hit in the top of the ninth, left Myrtle Beach pitcher Dave Gray visibly frustrated.
"Ron's a trooper," said Carolina manager Jon Saenz. "He always gives it all he's got."
