Dash Suffer 3-1 Loss to Red Sox
|
The Salem Red Sox got a magnificent effort from pitcher Angel Villegas, who kept Winston-Salem hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Red Sox win at BB&T Ballpark. Salem is now 36-60.
Salem used a well-timed hit by David Beason to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Red Sox manager Tommy Gallant, "I like our chances."
