The Winston-Salem Dash rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Mario Magana to a win, beating the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 6-1, at BB&T Ballpark. Winston-Salem is now 36-61, while Wilmington is 49-48.

Zach Mufich took Wilmington hurler Steve Walat deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Dash on top, 3-1. In all, Mufich had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"I liked our effort," said Dash manager Sam Simmons.
