Late Magic Gets Lynchburg 2-1 Win
Lynchburg beat Salem at Ed Smith Stadium, eking out a 2-1 win. The triumph was primarily due to designated hitter Hugo Quevedo. He threw 8.1 innings of 7-hit ball. Lynchburg pitcher Luis Diaz earned the win, hiking his record to 4-1. Carlitos Anoio suffered the loss. Lynchburg goes to 61-38. The win puts them 11 games up in their division.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Quevedo hit a changeup from Carlitos Anoio for a run-scoring single. The Hillcats, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Hugo knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said Lynchburg manager Diego Perez.
