Pelicans 5-1 Victors Over Winston-Salem

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans locked up a win at BB&T Ballpark, knocking off the Winston-Salem Dash, 5-1. On the mound for Myrtle Beach was right-hander Steve Jackson. He played a major role in the triumph. Jackson, the winner, moves to 8-5. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. Myrtle Beach is in first place in the Southern Division with a record of 63-41.
Myrtle Beach won the game in part because of Elias Jasso. The designated hitter ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Pelicans ahead, 5-0. For the game, Jasso had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Jackson.
