The Salem Red Sox and Lynchburg Hillcats were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Brett Evans impressed in the 8-4 Lynchburg win over Salem. Evans, who leads the CAR with a .331 batting average, was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Billie Barrett. He's now 10-2. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits for the Hillcats.

The game turned with one out in the top of the fifth when Evans, who is tied for 8th in the CAR in hits with 92, hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Hillcats into the lead, 4-3.
