Salem took on Carolina in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Brett Hinders, in particular, was fantastic. The left-hander helped the Red Sox snag the win, 2-1, in 10 innings. Carlitos Anoio snagged the win in relief. He goes to 5-2 on the season. Antonio Lujan suffered the loss. The last-place Red Sox have won 4 consecutive games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Salem first baseman Jose Roman, facing Antonio Lujan, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Red Sox the 2-1 win.
"I can't say enough about Brett," said Salem manager Arturo Cobian. "He stepped up when we needed him."
