Tilmão Vicente had a strong outing for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans against the Potomac Nationals at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. The first-place Pelicans improved to 72-35.
Eric Fitzsimons went 2 for 5 with 2 singles for Myrtle Beach. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring single off Chris Phillips. It was his 48th hit of the season.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Fitzsimons told the Myrtle Beach Gazette.
