Winston-Salem took on Myrtle Beach in front of a lively crowd.

The Winston-Salem Dash cut down the Myrtle Beach Pelicans by the score of 8-1, with the largest share of the credit going to third baseman Craig Lynch. Lynch was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Dash. Mario Magana was the winner. He's now 4-6. The loser was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Matt Rice.

The Dash benefited from a costly error in the top of the first. With Oscar de la Sancha at bat and Winston-Salem leading 2-0, the Myrtle Beach miscue allowed Winston-Salem to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-0.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Winston-Salem manager Sam Simmons.
