Late Rally by Pelicans Secures 3-2 Win

The skies opened up and the rain fell at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium.
In a low-scoring affair between the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and the Wilmington Blue Rocks, pitcher Jesus Caban was the difference between victory and defeat. The Myrtle Beach right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Pelicans win. Myrtle Beach reliever Ryan LaBrasca picked up the win to move to 4-13. Francisco Checa suffered the loss. The save went to Sergio Gaona, number 9 for him.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Skyler McGuire? The 24-year old center fielder McGuire stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Myrtle Beach up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Caban.
The Pelicans now have a record of 52-56.
