Blue Rocks Pick Up 6-3 Win Against Myrtle Beach
|
Wilmington right-hander Kyle Runyon pitched his team to victory over the Myrtle Beach Pelicans at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. The final score was 6-3. With the win, Wilmington goes to 47-61, while the Pelicans fall to 57-51.
The Blue Rocks got a big at-bat from catcher Cody Christian. For the game, Christian went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Wilmington a 5-3 lead.
"Kyle -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Blue Rocks manager Bobby Clontz. "He was the key to us winning."
