G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium was the site for Carolina League action featuring the Potomac Nationals and Winston-Salem Dash.

Winston-Salem parlayed a decent outing from starter Rod Gaona into a solid win over the Potomac Nationals. The final score was 11-4. Gaona, now 3-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 run.

Ruben Guerra drove in one run for Winston-Salem. The 27-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Spencer Kobak. It was his 16th RBI of the season.

"A great game, a great day," said Guerra about the win. "I can't complain."

The second-place Dash are now 59-50, the Nationals 58-51.
