Gonzalez Neutralizes Pelicans
Winston-Salem picked up a win at BB&T Ballpark, bumping off the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 4-1. Pitcher Melvin Gonzalez was a major reason the Dash emerged victorious. Dave Perez earned his 5th save in 6 chances. The Dash saw their win-loss record go to 48-62. At the same time, the Pelicans fell to 74-36.

Gonzalez subdued the Myrtle Beach offense. The Winston-Salem right-hander allowed a mere 4 hits over 8 innings, while fanning 11. His season record goes to 3-3 with the win.
