The Winston-Salem Dash defeated the Potomac Nationals, 6-2, at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. Winston-Salem was led by 25-year old catcher Oscar Otano, who went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Winston-Salem pitcher Tony Coronado got the win, upping his record to 5-11. Carlos Miera got the loss. Winston-Salem is now 41-69, Potomac 55-55.
Winston-Salem used the clutch hitting of Domingo Gonzalez to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dash ahead, 6-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
Gonzalez told a Winston-Salem News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
