Potomac Stymied by Winston-Salem, 2-1

Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Winston-Salem Dash and the Potomac Nationals. Winston-Salem won it, 2-1. Winston-Salem starter Luis Ruiz was in command. Manuel Gomez collected his 5th save. Winston-Salem has an impressive 73-36 record.
Winston-Salem used a timely hit from John Blevins to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dash ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"That's baseball," said Potomac manager Austin Czerwiec. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
