The Lynchburg Hillcats picked up a win at Ed Smith Stadium, dropping the Frederick Keys, 7-3. Miguel Gauna, who is tied for 2nd in the CAR in complete games with 4, was the difference-maker. Gauna yielded 3 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 11 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 6-7. Lynchburg sits in second place in the Northern Division at 57-53.

The Hillcats got a big hit from right fielder Alex Zavala. In the bottom of the seventh, Zavala smacked a 2-run double off Frederick pitcher Chris Spradling. It was his 8th double of the season. Suddenly, the Hillcats were ahead, 4-3.

"I didn't want to let them take the game from my hands," said Gauna.
