Red Sox Come Back Late, Nip Nationals
|
The Salem Red Sox sent the home crowd home ecstatic.
Salem rode a decent outing from starter Ian Boeck to victory over the Potomac Nationals. The final score was 5-4. The victory puts Salem at 32-79.
Santiago Benitez was the walk-off hero for Salem. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Red Sox catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Benitez. "Maybe this win will help."
